From Maxwell Street to the Mountains: Robison’s Gritty Chicago Blues Hits Blo Back Gallery

Experience the raw power of Chicago Electric Blues at Blo Back Gallery on April 5th. Robison, a true son of the Maxwell Street blues scene, brings his searing, unvarnished sound to Southern Colorado, delivering a performance that's as honest as it is electrifying.

Robison's journey began in the gritty streets of Chicago, where he was first introduced to the electric energy of blues legends. His passion for the music was ignited the night he witnessed Albert King dominate a small Wisconsin dive bar—a moment that transformed his approach to music forever. From high school bands to seasoned performances across Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado, Robison has honed a sound that is unmistakably Chicago, steeped in history and unyielding spirit.

In the late '90s, his focus shifted entirely to Chicago Electric Blues, and he hasn't looked back. Sharing the stage with icons such as James Cotton, Johnny Winter, Jim Schwall, Sammy Blue, Kyle Rowland, and Robert Lee Coleman, Robison has earned his stripes by sticking to the gritty, authentic roots of the genre. His music is an honest reflection of a life lived on the road and a relentless pursuit of truth through six strings.

Now based in Southern Colorado, Robison is set to ignite Blo Back Gallery with a performance that promises not only incredible music but an immersive experience. On April 5th, amid a backdrop of compelling art and a relaxed, intimate atmosphere, you'll be treated to a night of pure blues—raw, unfiltered, and unforgettable.

Mark your calendar for an evening where blues history meets modern energy. This is a show for those who appreciate music that speaks to the soul—six strings and the truth, live in Southern Colorado.
