Stuart John Wallace

Born in England in 1968, Stuart Wallace emigrated to the U.S. in 1978 and grew up in Kansas City, where he attended the Kansas City Art Institute and became a U.S. citizen. He has worked for decades as both a fine artist and creative director, founding several design ventures, including his latest project, ARTIFACT.

While building a career in branding for Fortune 500 companies, Wallace continued painting—his true constant. His work has been exhibited in London, New York (DUMBO), Seattle, Los Angeles, Kansas City, and Colorado.

Wallace’s abstract paintings reflect a deep engagement with physicality, structure, and broken pattern. Much of this comes from lived experience: he is dyslexic, lives with monocular vision, and underwent open-heart surgery shortly after art school. These conditions shape how he perceives space, depth, and time—and give his work its raw, rhythmic presence. His pieces often straddle order and chaos, refinement and rupture, becoming visual records of energy, constraint, and adaptation.
